Shelley is an accomplished and tenacious public relations and media relations strategist, branding and corporate communications professional representing a vast array of industries.
Shelley has long-time relationships with regional, national and international media while representing the MGM and her own clients. She follows the trends, changing tides and helps to influence others and news headlines.
In 2005 she opened her own boutique PR company and to date has consulted CEOs of privately-held companies, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, real estate and retail concepts, celebrity chefs, restaurants, wineries, Broadway talent and live stage show productions. She previously served on the Board for the Public Relations Society of America Las Vegas chapter, and the Nevada SPCA.
Shelley was born and raised in the Midwest in a small town of 300 people next to a corn field in Macoupin County, IL. Her passion for clean water began as a child swimming, boating, waterskiing, and family vacations in Florida to enjoy the clear lakes and ocean. She moved to Hutchinson Island South in Jensen Beach in an oceanfront condo in 2018 with her fiancé Travis, and they were married on the beach at the House of Refuge six months later. Her boundless energy, positive attitude and active lifestyle includes paddle boarding on her 11-foot board she bought from Zeke’s along the Indian River Lagoon, swimming and snorkeling the ocean, running the beaches, competing in 10k races, traveling with her husband and veteran pilot Travis, shopping and dining out to support local small businesses and advocating for clean waters.
The majority of her career she was a PR executive and spokesperson with Fortune 500 leader MGM Grand 1996-2000, promoted to Asst. VP of PR and VP of Corporate Communications and Officer for parent company MGM MIRAGE in Las Vegas 2000-2005, and employed with national PR, lobbying and advertising agencies.
