Why is important to be a member?
Members make the Indian Riverkeeper a stronger and more influential force for the lagoon.
Indian Riverkeeper is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organized under the Treasure Coast Defense Fund amd is affiliated with the global Waterkeeper Alliance and Waterkeepers Florida. Indian Riverkeeper works to improve water quality in and around the lagoon, to protect it’s fisheries, marine life and habitat. We also seek to educate the public about the lagoon and the issues that impact its water quality. We employ a full time Riverkeeper to help us to achieve our goals.
Indian Riverkeeper is a membership-based advocacy organization. Indian Riverkeeper relies on donations, memberships, and grants for funding. We also depend on the generous support of businesses and concerned citizens who recognize the value and importance of the Indian River Lagoon and the work we do to protect and improve it.
