Gary
Crowder
Gary moved with his family to Jensen Beach in 1958. He spent the better portion of his happy and active childhood with his three brothers in Martin County with the benefits of the Indian River Lagoon, pristine natural beaches and the Hutchinson barrier island.
Sadly, the family moved north in 1966 to the Washington, DC area for his father’s career with the Government. His elder sibling, Bobby, stayed in Stuart and enjoyed a successful career serving Martin County in law enforcement retiring as Sheriff of Martin County.
Gary participated with nephew Rob Crowder, Bobby’s son, to launch Crowder Rods in 1998. This successful local business has its factory on Savannah Road in Jensen Beach.
Fast forward to 2021 Gary relocated permanently back to his much loved and missed Stuart area with the intent to semi-retire. He completed a 45-year career in the Hospitality industry where he was honored to have held several executive leadership assignments with Resorts International in Atlantic City, MGM Grand Las Vegas, Bally’s Casino Reno, The Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort Lake Buena Vista, Grand Casino Gulfport, Mohegan Sun Casino Uncasville, CT and Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island Bahamas. For the last decade Gary served as an independent Resort & Hospitality Operations consultant with assignments in St. Lucia, Curacao, Nassau, Orlando, Michigan, Pocono, RI and CT.
Gary he has come full circle by being back to the haunts of his youth and still carries sand between his toes at home in Martin County.
